Americanism

Americanism, one of our four pillars, promotes patriotism and good citizenship. Here in Naperville, we do this through patriotic observances such as Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day activities. We also conduct patriotic and civic instruction in schools through panel discussions, relating military experiences in the classroom and providing community service opportunities for our Jr. and Sr. High school students. On the local level, we provide scholarship opportunities through Oratorical and Essay contests for monetary awards. We provide School Americanism awards for all grades in all schools in Naperville Community School District 203, Indian Prairie School District 204 and local private schools and colleges. We solicit and encourage participation in Illinois Premier Boys State and Illini Girls State to six local high schools. Naperville Post #43 also sponsors a Boy Scout Troop, supports local Little League and a variety of community service events and activities.
