KICK STANDS UP FOR THE LEGIONRIDERS
The motorcycle enthusiasts of Naperville are ready to go. The paperwork for granting our Charter has been submitted to the Department of Illinois American Legion Headquarters and the newly elected Director is ready to yell out "Kick Stands Up" and get this group moving forward. "We are ready to go", states Don Chasteen, "and we anticipate a very good year of doing good for both the Legion and the community".
The members of the Legionriders are anxious for the riding season to begin and are currently making the plans to be the lead group riding to the DuPage Airport for the DuPage Veteran’s Foundation annual fundraiser for Chicago Honor Flight.
Doug Deetjen is our go to guy for this event and he hopes we will be joined by about 200 other motorcycle enthusiasts from other rider organizations.
We plan to be busy with the many Welcome Homes for active duty servicemen and also looking forward to participating in the Memorial Day weekend events and ceremonies along with the other Post members.
We are still recruiting other Legion members that are motorcycle riders and enthuasists and encourage them to contact us to further explain our program.
Our next scheduled meeting is on May 22, 2013 starting at 7 p.m. and we meet at the Post Home,
10 W. Chicago Ave. on the 2nd floor.
For the current year we have selected the 4th Wednesday of the month for our Legionrider members meeting where we can plan out future rides, fundraisers, discuss motorcycle safety and other topics that will interest both Legionnaires and motorcycle enthusiasts. If you are interested in joining this chapter of the American Legion Riders please contact our Membership Chairman, Bob Bohr at
